31 Days {Day 31} – Couple Costume Ideas

31 days logo new

Welcome back to the 31 Days of Mary, Martha, & Sparta! If you missed it, here is the link to yesterday’s post!

Ty and I are not being anything for Halloween this year. Last year we were Lois and Clark, and it was really fun! I’m not into the skin-tight costumes (for example, the “slutty batgirl”, as Sandra Bullock calls it… – thanks for saying it Sandra!), so I always try to find something that is more appropriate. Plus I like the thought that goes into costumes, so I like costumes for us that aren’t store-bought.

So even though Ty and I are not dressing up this year – our lives have been a little crazy – I thought that I would share with you my favorite couple costumes that I considered for us this year! Some of these could be super easy if you have the items to throw together tonight – even if not as intricate as the pictures are.

Deer and Hunter

I don’t know if it’s because I like the look on her face or what, what this idea is great! It’s super easy if your husband already has hunting gear, too!

Burt and Mary Poppins

This is so cute! I don’t know where I’d find a chimney brush, but everything else seems fairly easy to pull together. Maybe next year!

Popeye and Olive Oyl

This one is pretty easy to do, too. Maybe the sailor’s hat would be hard…but other than that, it’s a pretty quick costume to pull together at Goodwill.

Geico Gecko and Flo

This is somewhat akin to sacrilege in my house because Ty works for American Family Insurance, but it would be pretty funny to see him in the gecko outfit.

Alfalfa and Darla

I love this one. It’s pretty much a regular random costume until you stick up Alfalfa’s hair, and then it’s genius!

Post your pictures of your creative costumes for you, your kids, or your friends in the comments or on my Facebook page! Who knows? We just might steal your idea for next year!
